Several Galaxy S21 devices show a permanent green line on the screen after a software update. The problem mainly occurs on the Ultra and FE models. The exact cause of the problem is not yet known.
The line appears as a thin, vertical stripe across the screen. In some cases it does not appear immediately after the update, but while using the phone, reports Android Authority, among others. A user on social media platform Android Authority suspects a problem with the phones' hardware, such as a faulty display connector or flex cable. It's possible that the phones' temperatures went up when the update was installed, exacerbating underlying hardware issues. Samsung has not yet given an official response to the messages and has not yet come up with a solution.
