Mitsubishi presents the new ASX now? also hybrid

The new generation of the Mitsubishi ASX brings a new design and hybrid engines to its debut. The first generation of this model was launched in 2010 and has been since then; been constantly updated. Now, with this new generation, comes a completely revamped car that has many points in common with the Renault Captur from which it derives.

The Japanese B-SUV will arrive & agrave; in dealerships in some European countries starting from March 2023 . The car is produced in the Renault plant in Valladolid, Spain.

DESIGN AND INTERIORS

The new Mitsubishi ASX measures 4,228mm long x 1,797mm wide x 1,573mm high. The trunk has a capacity; of 332 liters which can & ograve; increase to 401 liters by sliding the second row of seats forward. The car rests on the CMF-B platform of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance and, as mentioned at the beginning, it is a model strictly derived from the Renault Captur. The similarities with the car of the French brand are evident (it changes very little), although the Japanese manufacturer has introduced some unique identifying elements especially at the level of the front. This is an operation very similar to that done with the Mazda2 Hybrid which is; basically a Toyota Yaris with a different brand.


The interior also mirrors those of the Renault Captur. Speaking of technology, we find the digital instrumentation with a 10.25-inch screen (analogue instrumentation plus 4.2-inch mini display for the entry level versions) and a 7 or 9.3-inch touch display (depending on the model). 39; set-up) for the infotainment system which can rely on Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support.

ENGINES AND SAFETY

This new model from the Japanese manufacturer will be & agrave; only offered with petrol engines . Just like for the Captur, there will also be hybrid and Plug-in versions. The range starts with a one-liter three-cylinder engine capable of delivering 67 kW/91 hp combined with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Then we have a 103 kW/140 hp 1.3 turbo Mild Hybrid (also in the 116 kW/158 hp version) combined with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.

The new ASX & egrave; also offered with the 105 kW/143 hp 1.6 Full Hybrid powertrain with multimode gearbox and a 1.3 kWh battery. Finally, we have the 117 kW/159 hp Plug-in version. The 10.5 kWh battery allows autonomy in mode; only electric of about 50 km. The car has the modalities; driving Eco, Pure, Sport and My Sense.


Speaking of safety , the new generation of the Mitsubishi ASX offers solutions such as emergency braking, lane keeping, rear view camera and parking sensors. In the more set-ups; rich stands out the presence of the MI-PILOT system that combines adaptive cruise control and Lane Centering Assist.
