PureTrak Valor Wireless: G Pro X Superlight clone costs more than the original

With the Valor Wireless, the mouse pad manufacturer PureTrak presents a clone of the popular G Pro X Superlight (test) from Logitech – at least on the outside, because the same high-end technology works inside , which Endgame Gear is promising for the rescheduled XM2w. There are three upper shells.

PureTrak copies the form of the X Superlight almost exactly

In the segment of wireless and yet lightweight mice for competitive shooter players, Logitech's G Pro X Superlight and its predecessor G Pro Wireless (test) are probably more popular than almost any other mouse series. With a discreet design and no frills, the X Superlight in particular appeals to e-sports professionals as well as a large number of “normal” gamers at home – so it's no wonder that the concept is now being adopted more and more often by other manufacturers – most recently by Razer, for example the Viper V2 Pro (test). Endgame Gears XM2w is also already expected, but this has now unexpectedly been delayed until autumn 2022.

PureTrak now steps in between with the Valor Wireless. In contrast to the very similar X2 Wireless from Pulsar, this time even the shape of the Logitech mice is adopted almost exactly: size and lines correspond to the model almost down to the millimeter, which the manufacturer openly communicates as the objective of the input device. However, thanks to three additional covers for the back of the mouse, it can be raised by 1.6 mm; you can also choose between hexagon holes, slots and a closed upper shell. The weight is always 63 grams – and thus again the value that the G Pro X Superlight and the XM2w can also show. The X2 Wireless weighs 56 grams, the Viper V2 Pro weighs 58 grams.

High-end inner workings are familiar

The internal specifications are also identical to the XM2w and the X2 Wireless. All three mice rely on PixArt's PAW-3395. It is the variant of the PAW-3399 that is not exclusively available to Razer, which was used for the first time in the Viper Ultimate (test) at the end of 2019 and has only been allowed to be used by other manufacturers since the beginning of the year. PureTrak pairs the most powerful gaming mouse sensor apart from the PAW-3950 in the Viper V2 Pro with Kailh's GM 8.0 for the left and right mouse button – like Endgame Gear and Pulsar, which also rely on the mechanical microswitches specified in theory with 80 million clicks .

Apart from that, there are proven high-end virtues: A USB query rate of 1,000 Hertz is achieved via 2.4 GHz radio, a flexibly wrapped cable has a USB-C connector at the end, and the Valor Wireless also slides on white PTFE mouse feet. On the other hand, the RGB lighting, which manifests itself in a stripe on the rear of the mouse, is unusual for a mouse designed in this way. The battery life is said to be around 60 hours – PureTrak leaves it open whether this value applies to the lighting being switched on or off; but the latter is more likely.

Clone currently costs more than the original

The last question that remains is the price. According to a non-binding recommendation, the Valor Wireless costs 120 US dollars – for a clone that's a steep price, especially since the G Pro X Superlight is now constantly available from around 100 euros. Although PureTrak is giving a discount of 20 US dollars until the official market launch on August 26, 2022, the delivery costs to Germany are around 25 US dollars – so far the mouse can only be pre-ordered via the manufacturer's website.

But even with lower shipping costs, the offer remains questionable – if Logitech's original is not an option due to the older hardware, Pulsars and Endgame Gears mice inevitably appear more attractive: the X2 Wireless' MSRP is $95 and the XM2w costs $110, but it is as already mentioned not yet available.
