Philips Hue Calla in steel
Philips Hue has two new lamps: the Inara wall light with a retro-style filament lamp and the new Calla pedestal lamp in stainless steel, also for outdoor use. The Calla line has been around for some time and has now been expanded with a stainless steel base with white and colored light. This plinth is intended to be placed along the garden path or in a flower bed, so that you can safely walk to the front door. The pedestal is just over 25 centimeters high and can be placed throughout the garden. It works with low voltage and you can easily extend it later. An extension cable is included. The Philips Hue Calla pedestal lamp in stainless steel is available from February 8, 2022 and has a suggested retail price of €139.99.
New: Philips Hue Inara wall lamp
If you like a vintage style, then there is the new Philips Hue Inara wall lamp, which above all has its decorative value. This filament lamp gives an old-fashioned effect and has dimmable warm white light. This is for setting the right mood, not chasing bad guys away. If you sit outside (with your patio heater?), the Inara provides pleasant light.
The Philips Hue Inara Filament wall lamp black is available from February 8, 2022 and has a suggested retail price of €99.99.
These outdoor lamps also offer all the functions of the Hue system and are weatherproof. You can dim and control them via the Philips Hue app or HomeKit. A motion sensor can control it all automatically, so the lights come on when you're nearby.
Cozy effects in the Philips Hue app
Signify also has something new for existing users: from the first quarter of 2022 there will be cozy light effects for the current lamps. You can find them in the Philips Hue app. The first effects are Candle and Fireplace. They mimic the soft glow of candlelight or a cozy fireplace. This is for a romantic dinner or a relaxing evening in the armchair.
You can first use them on the relatively recent Philips Hue gradient products, namely the light strip, light tube and Signe table and floor lamp. In addition, it should work on all Philips Hue lamps that support both Zigbee and Bluetooth. Once the effects have been added in the Hue app, you can check whether your lamps are suitable. The fact that it does not work on all lamps has to do with the heavier hardware requirements.
