Abroad. A Siberian shaman who wanted to cast out evil spirits with the “demon” Vladimir Putin by undertaking a long walk of 750 km has now been detained for compulsory care in a psychiatric institution. It reports RT.

The shaman Alexander Gabyshev considered the walk to function as a kind of exorcism in which the evil “demon” Putin would be healed and cleansed from the influence of evil spirits.

Projects received much attention in international media 2019 – but a grim end.

A court in Yakutsk earlier this year declared Alexander Gabyshev insane after he was accused of stabbing a member of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSO) with a homemade weapon.

Now he is sent indefinitely to a psychiatric institution where he will be kept under intensive observation, writes RT.

Gabyshev comes from Sacha, an area in Siberia known for its intense winters with icy temperatures. Shamans have been in the area for centuries and have played the role of doctors or mystics in society.
