Vivo: V21 starts with front OIS and dual LED for better selfies

Vivo has scheduled the market launch of the V21 for tomorrow at Media Markt and Saturn as well as Sparhandy.de, DeinHandy.de, Otto, Cyberport and Euronics. The special feature of the 399 euro smartphone is the front camera. An optical image stabilizer (OIS) and two LEDs at the front should ensure better selfies and video calls.

What can only be found on the back of most smartphones, Vivo also installs on the front: The V21 of the upper mid-range, which will be launched on the market tomorrow, has 44 megapixels on a 1/2.65 & quot; large sensor at aperture f/2.0 for selfies. The high resolution is not a special feature in itself, but the manufacturer also installs an autofocus and an electronic (EIS) as well as optical image stabilization (OIS) and two LEDs in the upper edge of the display that are not immediately visible. With the light of the screen, these should ensure well-lit selfies even at night and improve the quality of video telephony. Portrait recordings and 4K video recordings are also supported with the front camera.

Rear with triple camera

On the back there is a triple camera, the main camera with 64 megapixels is also equipped with EIS and OIS and offers the same image modes. These are expanded to include a dual view video function so that simultaneous recordings can be made with the front and rear cameras, as well as a double exposure function that allows two images to be merged into one. The second camera with 8 megapixels is responsible for ultra-wide-angle photos with a 120 degree (108 degrees with correction) wide field of view, while a third camera with only 2 megapixels can take macro shots.

Bright OLED display with HDR support

In the 73.9 × 159.7 × 7.29 mm (W × H × D) smartphone, Vivo has also installed a 6.44-inch AMOLED display from Samsung that works at 90 Hz and has 2,404 × 1,080 pixels represents. Vivo specifies the typical brightness with 500 cd/m², the high brightness mode with 800 cd/m² and the peak brightness with 1,000 cd/m². High brightness values are especially important in sunlight and the playback of HDR10 and HDR10 + material, which Vivo supports both – Dolby Vision, however, not.
