At E3 2021, Square Enix had a single player title in the Marvel universe, news about the next (co-op) action game from Platinum Games and more details about Life is Strange to show. Fortunately, little was seen of microtransactions. In addition to Final Fantasy offshoots, single player fans get a lot of supplies.

Guardians of the Galaxy

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy comes out of nowhere and should be released on October 26th for PlayStation 4, 5, Xbox One and Series models as well as the PC. The protagonist of the action game is the character of the Star Lord, who is supported by other well-known Marvel characters. The skills of these companions can also be used in combat. As the Star Lord, who sees himself as the leader of the Guardians, it is also up to the player to lead dialogues and make decisions. This is accompanied by a soundtrack that comes up with hits from the 1980s.

Explosions, action and nothing less than saving the galaxy as a major goal are also promised. The conditions for quality are good, because the game is in the hands of Eidos Montréal. In recent years, Deux Ex and Thief and most recently Shadow of the Tomb Raider have been created there. And another sign points to fun: DLCs and microtransactions are expressly not supposed to exist, reports Eurogamer. This is where the Guardians game differs from its Avengers predecessor, which relies on grind and additional purchases as a live service.

Babylons Fall

There were gameplay scenes for Babylon's fall, the co-op action game by Platinum Games announced in 2018. Four players explore dungeons and defeat bosses. To do this, they fight in a similar way to Nier: Automata, but with a mixture of swords and wands. Development is now also being carried out for the PlayStation 5. That this is a live service game is also a new detail. After the release, further game modes and attack types will be submitted. At least one Battle Pass is offered.

Life is Strange

Life is Strange had two news. Life is Strange will be reissued as a remaster along with its prequel Before the Storm and will be released in a bundle as the Life is Strange Remastered Collection on September 30, 2021. The display quality of characters and environments as well as the animations in particular are said to have been improved. The gameplay has also been optimized.

In a new trailer, Square Enix also shows how the supernatural abilities of the heroine in Life is Strange: True Colors will affect gameplay . In the second part of the series, Alex Chen explores the city of Haven Springs to clear up the circumstances surrounding the death of her brother by perceiving and manipulating other people's emotions. True Colors will be released on September 10th.
