The failure of a content delivery network (CDN) at Fastly's service provider on Tuesday lunchtime resulted in inaccessible websites worldwide. Reddit, the largest international forum, was also affected, the New York Times and the Financial Times were also affected.
Fastly had confirmed the problem at exactly 12:00 noon 12:46 pm, according to the provider, countermeasures were taken after the cause had been identified. Since 12:50 p.m., reddit.com and nytimes.com have indeed been available again.
