The first Huawei flagship store in Germany will open its doors to walk-in customers tomorrow in Berlin. The opening had to be canceled last December, visits by appointment have been possible since spring. In the flagship store, Huawei is showing new products, demonstrating the HarmonyOS ecosystem and offering services.

After two flagship stores in Spain (Barcelona and Madrid) and one store in Paris, the flagship store in Berlin is the first of its kind in Germany. So far, Huawei has followed the store-in-store principle. Originally, the shop at Kurfürstendamm 11 should have opened its doors on December 18 of last year, but the pandemic, which flared up again, thwarted this plan. Since March of this year, access has been possible via a “Click and Meet” program, but the visit had to be arranged online in advance.

These restrictions no longer exist in Berlin, so that access (as in other shops) is possible without an appointment or negative corona test. There are only restrictions on the number of visitors allowed in the store, which is currently limited to 20 people. Huawei has rented a total of around 450 m² of space in Berlin.

New presentations have already been exhibited

On the one hand, the Huawei flagship store is the point of contact for existing and new products that are presented on large tables in a modern design. For example, you can take a look at the products announced last week, including the new MatePads (Pro), FreeBuds 4, Watch 3 (Pro) and the new MateView monitors.

Try out devices with HarmonyOS

The tablets and the smartwatch are the first Huawei products to be offered with HarmonyOS in Germany. Customers can therefore get up close and personal with the new operating system for the first time. A Chinese version of the Mate 40 Pro with HarmonyOS can also be tried out, although there is still no date for HarmonyOS on German Huawei smartphones. The update roadmap shown for last week's event only applies to China.

Huawei demonstrates what HarmonyOS can do with tablets, smartwatches, a smart door lock from Nuki, smart lamps, its own Sound-X loudspeaker (test) and a Huawei television, which will initially be launched in Spain to see how this is accepted by customers. How devices that are compatible with HarmonyOS communicate with each other and how the “Super Devices” shown last week can be configured and used can be tried out on site. In general, workshops should also be offered to demonstrate the capabilities of the devices and the ecosystem to potential customers. Courses in photography are also planned.

The flagship store should also Be the point of contact for services. In Berlin, Huawei has been operating a customer service center at Karl-Liebknecht-Strasse 21 for a long time, but it does not serve as a sales point. These services, for example if a display breaks or other hardware or software defects occur, can now also be used on Kurfürstendamm.
