A new X570S chipset without a PCH fan could flank a possible Zen 3 refresh in the form of an AMD Ryzen 5000XT. With the exception of the extremely expensive Gigabyte X570 Aorus Extreme and the even more expensive and limited ASRock X570 Aqua, all X570 boards are actively cooled.

Rumors of further motherboards with an X570 chipset and passive cooling of the highest positioned PCH (“Platform Controller Hub”) for processors based on Zen architectures have been around for a long time. Already at the beginning of April, the website Wccftech reported on a total of eight new mainboards with the previously unknown X570S chipset based on the first entries in the EEC database -ul text-width “>

  • Gigabyte X570S Aorus Master
  • Gigabyte X570S Aorus Elite AX
  • Gigabyte X570SI Aorus Pro AX
  • Gigabyte X570S Aorus Pro AX
  • Gigabyte X570S Aorus Elite
  • GigabyteX570S Gaming X
  • Gigabyte X570S Aero G

  • X570S mainboards from Gigabyte in the EEC database

Corresponding information can once again be traced back to the usually well-informed Twitter user @Komachi. As the editors have learned from their own sources from wholesalers, these models are already listed – but whether with or without a chipset fan is not clear from the listings.

In the meantime, Another eight motherboards with the designation “X570S” from MSI appeared in the EEC database.

    • MSI MEG X570S ACE MAX
    • MSI MEG X570S UNIFY-X MAX

In addition, the website Wccftech would like to have received a photo of a passive PCH cooler of the MSI MPG X570S Gaming Carbon Max WIFI. The regular MSI MPG X570 Gaming Pro Carbon, on the other hand, is actively cooled.

    Currently there are still rumors

Since neither AMD nor its board partner have officially approved an X570 refresh or an X570S Chipset and it has not yet been clarified whether a Zen 3 refresh or even a Zen 3+ in 6 nm will appear as Ryzen 5000XT under the code name Warhol under the code name Warhol, these rumors should be viewed with caution.

Addition: As the community from the ComputerBase forum correctly noted, there is a third passively cooled one with the Asus Crosshair VIII Dark Hero Mainboard with X570 chipset.
