An image published on a Chinese forum, shows a front for a 6,44″screen with a Sony logo. The publication of the picture leads to speculation that Sony is following in the footsteps of Samsung and Huawei, a big smartphone like to make.

The screen would have a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels on board, that the number of ppi comes to about 342. That is about the same sharpness as Sony’s own Xperia S, which is a 720p screen at 4.3″. Or Sony is really a such a unit will make, is still by no means certain: manufacturers are experimenting a lot with prototyping with different screen sizes and it would be likely that this screen for one of the test models is that Sony has.

The image published on a Chinese forum and shows the screen in the hand of what an employee at a factory seems to be. Geruchtensite BGR claims that a device with this screen size telecombeurs Mobile World Congress in late February will be presented. That is not unlikely: details and images of Sony smartphones leaks more often than not months for the presentation, making the introductions, it is rarely a surprise form.

If Sony in a smartphone with this screen presents, it is the smartphone with largest screen so far. The Huawei Ascend Mate has that title now with a 6.1″screen. The largest phone from Sony so far is the Xperia Z with a 5″display.
