LG for the Japanese market, an Android smartphone with large battery is presented. The Optimus G Pro has a 5″screen with full hd resolution and a quad-core-soc from Qualcomm. He is by the large battery is a bit thicker than many competitors.

The phone is only 10.1 mm thick, 139mm long and 70mm wide, as appears from the specs on the site of the Japanese provider NTT Docomo. He is about as big as the Galaxy S III from Samsung, but a bit thicker. The battery has a capacity of 3000mAh. Thus, the capacity is a lot higher than that of the 2100mAh battery of the Optimus G. It seems that LG, the device is slightly thicker for a larger battery to accommodate.

The smartphone runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro, just like the regular Optimus G. The difference mainly concerns the screen: where the Optimus G, just like its counterpart, Nexus 4 is a 4.7″screen with 1280×768 pixels, the Pro-version has a 5″panel with 1920×1080 pixels. The 5″ full-hd screens went a few months ago in production at LG Display and Japan Display, and are therefore in many smartphones.

The phone runs on Android 4.1 with LG’s own skin and adjustments of the provider. NTT Docomo brings the Optimus G Pro in april in Japan. LG has not yet announced whether the phone elsewhere will come true. Japanese providers present all the phones and tablets for half a year at a time; if that happens just for trade shows, it may happen that the manufacturers of the phones themselves later for other countries to announce.
