Nvidia would be at the end of February a new consumentenvideokaart based on the GK110 gpu from want to bring. This gpu is only available for Nvidia’s business cards. The product differentiation would be the video card, the Titan-indications.
The new video card would, according to Sweclockers, the GK110 get on board: the gpu that Nvidia is now exclusively for its Tesla K20X cards. The GK110 is a massive gpu compared to Nvidia’s high-end gpu for its exciting consumer category. For example, the chip has 2880 cuda-cores, of which 2688 are enabled. Does Nvidia because there is probably but little chips are where all the cuda-cores to work properly. The clock speed is with 736MHz also quite low, because not all cuda cores and a higher clock speed can handle. The tdp is set at 235W, relatively little compared to the GTX 690. The GK104 chip, the gpu of the GTX 680, for comparison only 1536 cuda cores, with a clock speed of at least 1006MHz.
Since Nvidia already have a full line-up, with the GTX 690 which is two GK104 chips has to be the fastest video card, the company would up with a new name for the video card built around the GK110 gpu. This would be the name of Geforce Titan on board, to stand out of the GTX cards. It is possible the name was inspired by the supercomputer Cray Titan, which is about thousands of Tesla K20X cards. The chip has 2688 cuda cores, a 384bit-memory bus, the gpu connects with a whopping 6GB memory 5200MHz tap. The Geforce Titan is possible at the end of February, for a price of $ 900.
