On the internet, the first pictures appeared of the two new NEX-milc models that Sony is planning in september to announce. Both the NEX-6 and NEX-5R would have an image sensor with phase-detection-af and wi-fi.

The photos, originating from the Chinese VR-Zone forum, show that Sony has the new NEX-6, just like the current NEX-7, a more direct operation of the camera. For the first time in the NEX series, the NEX-6 has a physical mode dial. This dial upper right edge of the camera is equipped with p-, a-, s-, and m-modes, while there are also two automatic modes, a panorama mode and scene modes to choose. The TriNav control of the NEX-7 for the exposure, however, with the NEX-6 is not acquired, as is apparent from the photos.

Also there is a ring at the base of the mode dial. It is not clear where that should be, but given the fact that, like the NEX-7 to the right of the shutter button, a mode dial, the second ring be used for multiple purposes. Further, similar to the NEX-6 and NEX-7 are quite similar with a built-in flash and electronic viewfinder. It is not known whether this on the basis of an lcd or oled display. That did change is the hot shoe: in place of the different model that Sony previously with the NEX-7 and all dslr’s used, seems to be the hot shoe of the NEX-6 is equal to that of competitors.

Also with the NEX-5R, the obvious successor to the current NEX-5N, is to see that Sony listened to criticism of the operation of the NEX-cameras. Upper right edge has a knob. The lack of an imprint suggests that also this button can be used universally. Also the NEX-5R has a mode dial next to the shutter button.

The two new models would be equipped with a newly designed aps-c sensor of 16 megapixels, which af points are integrated. This makes it possible to use the phase-detection-af for focusing. Like Nikon with its Nikon 1 milc-series shows is very fast to focus. Also Canon does with its EOS M milc and EOS 650D-dslr using a sensor with af points.
