– Now sellers and buyers are daring to act again and a greatly increased activity is driving prices down, comments Johan Engström, CEO at Fastighetsbyrån.

The latest statistics from Mäklarstatistik show that the prices of both villas and condominiums in the country rose in April, with 1.5 percent for condominiums and 0.9 percent for villas. The price increase is most evident in condominiums in central Gothenburg, which rose 2.3 percent in the last month. In three months, condominium prices have risen by 3.8 percent, while house prices have risen by 2.6 percent.

During April, Fastighetsbyrån, Sweden's largest brokerage company with 265 offices around the country, brokered 30 percent more homes than in April 2023 .

– The trend continues with rising prices, but what is even more noticeable is how sharply the number of housing transactions rises in April. The interest rate announcements give more positive faith in the future in the housing market, which in turn means that significantly more sellers and buyers dare to act. Increased activity and demand drags prices down even though we still have a large supply across the country, says Johan Engström, CEO of the Real Estate Agency, in a dispatch.
