HBO Max has announced three new subscriptions that will replace the current subscription. The current subscription will become the new Standard subscription and will be two euros per month more expensive. In addition, HBO Max will be available in Belgium from July 1.

The streaming service will receive three subscriptions and a Sports add-on from June 11. The three subscriptions differ in price, the amount of simultaneous streams and resolution. The cheapest subscription also receives advertising, while the two more expensive subscriptions allow users to download series and films. All subscriptions get access to streams about the Olympic Games in Paris. The Sports add-on also allows customers to stream Eurosport 1 and 2, as well as watch cycling, UFC, Roland-Garros and Tour de France. This add-on costs 5 euros per month.

HBO Max says in an email to customers that the 50 percent discount that certain members who took out a subscription at the launch of the service will continue to receive the discount. For these customers, the subscription will therefore become one euro more expensive each month, instead of two euros. These subscribers will pay the higher price 'on or after August 13', depending on the billing date.

The new subscription types are the result of the merger of HBO Max and Discovery+. After the merger, subscribers can also watch Discovery+ titles from, for example, Discovery, TLC and ID. In addition, HBO Max talks about improved personalization, search function and performance. HBO Max also announces that it will also offer services in Belgium from July 1. The company is not sharing any details about this yet; it is therefore not known whether the same subscriptions will apply here.
