Remedy and Tencent stop development of the multiplayer game codenamed Kestrel and previously Vanguard. Remedy says it can concentrate on the development of its own titles. Kestrel was still in an 'early concept phase'.

A small team was working on the project, which was to be a 'premium cooperative multiplayer game'. Remedy did the development work, while Tencent helped finance and publish the game. By canceling the game, the 'experienced developers' behind Kestrel can help with other Remedy titles and Remedy does not have to raise additional investments or look for additional staff to further complete the game.

< p>Remedy and Tencent announced at the end of 2021 that they would collaborate on the game, which was then codenamed Vanguard. At the time, there was still talk about a free-to-play game. Two years later, the two parties announced that the game would no longer be free-to-play and the name was changed to Kestrel.
