Google is conducting another round of layoffs. It has not been announced how many people will be fired this time and which teams they will be in. Google does say that affected employees can apply for other positions in the company.

According to Business Insider, several teams in the real estate and finance departments have been affected, but Google is not commenting on this. The news site states that, among other things, people from teams around business services have been dismissed. A small part of the affected functions will move to hubs in the company in which significant investments are being made, Reuters knows. This concerns hubs in India, Chicago, Atlanta and Dublin.

Google also had two rounds of layoffs in January. The first round saw hundreds of hardware workers laid off. The second round involved hundreds of employees, mainly from the Large Customer Sales department, which sells advertisements to large companies.

The fact that there are now more layoffs is due to the fact that many teams within Google have made changes implemented to 'work more efficiently and better', a company spokesperson told Reuters. In addition, 'layers have been removed and resources better aligned with the biggest product priorities'.
