Domestic. The controversial gender reassignment law was voted through by the Riksdag as expected on Wednesday afternoon.

Spontaneous jubilation broke out among the politicians when the result was presented.

The Social Committee's proposal for changes to the Gender Identity Act won the vote with 234 yes votes against 94 no.

No member abstained from voting. 21 were absent.

Judging by the numbers, there were three members who voted against the party line.

SD's attempt to have the proposal referred back to the committee failed.
