Domestic. The government lowers the tax on tobacco snus – but raises it on the tobacco-free white snus.

From November 1, the tax on cigarettes and white snus but lowers the tax on tobacco snus from 1 November.
At the same time, the tax on snus containing tobacco is lowered.
The white snus must also be indexed so the tax rises in line with inflation, writes Aftonbladet.
The government expects to receive SEK 20 million next year from the tax increase. From 2026 onwards, tax revenue is believed to increase to SEK 30 million per year.
