The new BMW Group plant in Debrecen will enter the market. in business in 2025. Yet, more; two years before the official launch of series production, the "vehicle construction" it is already in progress, at least virtuallythanks to the use of the most advanced digital technologies. In fact, for its new factory, the German group will exploit the NVIDIA partner expertise.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

To validate and optimize complex manufacturing systems across its production network, the BMW Group will use; the NVIDIA Omniverse Enterprise Platformwhich allows the creation and management of industrial applications in the metaverse in 3D, to perform digital simulations in real time and to virtually optimize layouts, robotics and logistics systems. Platform that, in the future, will be available; extended to all factories of the German Group.

NVIDIA Omniverse facilitates collaboration across sites and time zones and takes the planning and design of facilities, manufacturing systems, and processes to a whole new level of technology. It functions as a “cockpit”, offering quick and easy access to BMW's digital planning.

The potentials of this automotive technology were showcased at NVIDIA GTC, the global conference for the AI and Metaverse era. Therefore, by taking advantage of this platform, in the new plant, the German group is able to already able to virtually plan the production of new cars even before the factory becomes operational. Jensen Huang, Founder and CEO of NVIDIA, commented:

Digitalization is moving very rapidly in the automotive industry and BMW is one of the key players in the industry. been a leader in advancing this vision. We're collaborating closely with BMW, using NVIDIA Omniverse to help streamline manufacturing processes, improve collaboration, and increase efficiency. Our collaboration will continue in the future. to push the frontiers of virtual integration for the next generation of smart and connected factories around the world.

Finally, we would like to remind you that in the Debrecen plant it will be; produced the next generation of all-electric models of the BMW Group based on the Neue Klasse platform.
