Yeelight and Matter

Now that the Matter protocol has officially started, we can expect a lot of announcements. It seems that all manufacturers want to participate, with window and door sensors, lamps and smart plugs. Sometimes there are also special products, such as this one from Yeelight. Yeelight is going to update some existing products and also has some news to announce. The Yeelight Pro products for professionals will receive an over-the-air update for Matter.

Yeelight Fun: fun with Matter

In consumer products (without 'Pro' in the name) there will be a brand new Yeelight Fun line, aimed at gaming and entertainment. Part of the Fun line is this new Yeelight Cube Smart lamp, a lamp that can be expanded just like Lego blocks. The lamp works with Matter and is intended for use on the desk. There are three variants: one with dot matrix-like lights on which you can display a pattern, a cube that can display several colors at the same time and a third model with a built-in spot that you can point in all directions.

You can make all kinds of original combinations with this smart lamp. A price and release date have not yet been announced, but if you're interested, keep an eye on iCulture, as we'll let you know as soon as we see it popping up in stores. Thanks to Matter, all supported products can now be easily operated via Google Home, Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa and other protocols that participate in Matter.

It seems that Yeelight also offers an alternative to Nanoleaf with the new Fun products. has developed. The photo above shows the triangular light panels, which Nanoleaf was the only one with until now.
