The Fedora Linux 38 pre-release is now available for testing. The beta already shows what will be offered soon. With Gnome 44, the workstation version is again based on the latest version of this desktop, but there are also alternatives.

Fedora 38 Workstation Beta already comes with version 44 of the Gnome desktop, which will be coming at the end of March. Its features include a new lock screen, a background apps section in the quick access menu, and improved accessibility settings.

Apart from Gnome, some languages ​​and libraries have been renewed, in particular Ruby 3.2, gcc 13, LLVM 16, Golang 1.20 and PHP 8.2.

Testing expressly desired

Since Fedora 38 is currently only available as a pre-release version, bug reports from testers are expressly encouraged by the developer. These can for example be reported in the official mailing list.
