After Asus, Gigabyte and EVGA, ASRock has also presented its Z790 mainboards for the new Core i 13000 series (“Raptor Lake”) from Intel and surprises with one in particular 13.3-inch side panel that can be operated via a single cable connection. The manufacturer is launching a total of eleven Z790 boards.
Taichi, Steel Legend, PG and Pro for Raptor Lake
ASRock presents eleven Z790 motherboards in five product series, which mark the launch of the new Core i9-13900K as well as the smaller models of the Raptor Lake-S generation with more cores, more clocks and more TDP for (much) more CPU performance from April 20th. to accompany October. At the top are once again the Taichi and the Carrara.
As usual, the Steel Legend, PG and Pro series sort themselves into the Taiwanese manufacturer's portfolio with a sufficient respect distance to the Taichi models in terms of equipment and feature set.
Support for DDR4 and DDR5
With its Z790 motherboards, ASRock serves users who are on DDR5, as well as those who want to transfer their DDR4 main memory to a new computer system. Models that support DDR4 have the suffix “D4” in the product name and officially support DDR4 memory at 3200 MT/s.

A surprise in ASRock's Z790 portfolio is the 13.3 inch side panel, which should be delivered in a kit with all the necessary connections and mounting materials and can be purchased as an option.

The 13.3-inch side panel is said to have a single included 30-pin cable and the eDP standard (“embedded DisplayPort”) can be connected to the mainboard and placed in the side window of the case.
