Simracers are the target group for Logitech's first G-Pro steering wheel. The new G Pro Wheel and the separately offered G Pro Pedals compete with established sim professionals such as Fanatec. Formula 1 driver Lando Norris should help with the sale.
The steering wheel of the combination should be able to generate forces of eleven Newton meters, which are implemented with only a slight delay. Logitech speaks of “minimal” latency here, but does not give any numbers. Logitech's “Trueforce” force feedback system is also on board. In addition, special emphasis should have been placed on longevity and robustness. Emphasizing this prominently in the announcement is also a reaction to the reputation of previous G steering wheels, which have the reputation of by no means lasting forever.
There are also magnetically attached paddle shifters whose function is kept flexible. This is ensured by the combination of tactile magnets for “clicks” and Hall effect sensors, which can be used to detect how far the seesaws are moved. As a result, they can be used alternatively as a double clutch, hand brake or as an accelerator and brake pedal. The configuration of rockers, buttons and the like can be stored in five profiles. They can be changed via the steering wheel display.
