Berlusconi's Forza Italia party included in the right-wing alliance led by the nationalist Giorgia Meloni, which is at the top of all opinion polls.

Exactly what position Silvio Berlusconi can expect in the government is unclear, but the media is already reacting to the announcement by writing about the 86- the year-old in the same way as it has been done since the 1990s.

“The number of plastic surgery procedures seems to have increased significantly recently,” writes the Finnish state's official news channel Yle.

Statliga SVT at 12 o'clock had not yet published any news on the topic under its subject page about Berlusconi. However, the page is not called Berlusconi, but “Berlusconi and the scandals” on the government website.

British state broadcaster BBC describes the right-wing alliance's female leader Giorgia Meloni as a “right-wing extremist” who plans to “go hand in hand with the centre- the right-wing politician and business mogul Silvio Berlusconi, as well as with the former rival and far-right populist Matteo Salvini”.

“Both have historically close ties to Russia”, writes the BBC further about Berlusconi and Salvini.

“Once Berlusconi gave Vladimir Putin a sheet with a large photo of both of them on it. They have even gone skiing together,” writes the BBC.

The claims, which are true, are about an incident that took place while also the governments of Germany and France had far-reaching cooperation with Russia.
