Stellantis, in Mirafiori investments in transmissions and hubs for the circular economy

The Stellantis Group confirms the will & agrave; of wanting to invest in Italy by announcing two new projects that aim to strengthen its industrial presence in our country. Both projects concern Mirafiori and, specifically, the activities; of circular economy and the production of electric transmissions. These are initiatives aimed at supporting the Group's ambitious decarbonisation goals and at advancing the transformation of the global electrification value chain. We enter more in detail.

THE NEW PROJECTS

According to what has been reported, Stellantis has signed a new agreement with its partner Punch Powertrain to increase production of next-generation electrified dual-clutch (eDCT) transmissions for hybrid and plug-in (PHEV) vehicles. The plant for the production of transmissions will find located in the Mirafiori complex, integrating the current capacity; production site in Metz, France.

The start of production of the new e-Transmissions Assembly site in Mirafiori & egrave; expected for the second half & agrave; of 2024. When fully operational, the Mirafiori and Metz plants in France will be suppliers to all Stellantis production plants in Europe.


The second project concerns, as mentioned at the beginning, always Mirafiori. Specifically, you will find & agrave; place a hub for the Circular Economy . This means that the factory will start. to operate with three activities; designed to increase sustainability production: regeneration of components, reconditioning and dismantling of vehicles.

The Circular Economy business unit of Stellantis is; one of the seven units & agrave; gradually growing organizations announced in the Dare Forward 2030 plan. 360 degrees & egrave; based on the 4R strategy: repair, reuse, regeneration and recycling. COMMITMENTS TO ITALY

In March 2022, Stellantis reiterated its commitment to ;Italy. By announcing these two new projects, the Group recalled the initiatives already made; launched in favor of the Italian industry.
