McLaren is preparing for its debut in the Formula E World Championship. As we know, it has decided to acquire the Mercedes-EQ team and then enter the electric championship from next season when the new Gen3 cars arrive, offering better performance than the current ones. On the McLaren projects, now comes the news of a agreement with Nissan for the supply of the electric powertrain for the entire era of Gen3 cars.
It is, therefore, a multi-year collaboration agreement which, apparently, goes a little bit. in addition to the supply of electric motors only. Indeed, Ashwani Gupta , COO, Nissan, underlined how this partnership will bring; also sharing knowledge as both Nissan and McLaren are driven by a pioneering spirit and a desire to innovate.
A statement that is not so surprising given that Formula E & egrave; seen by manufacturers as a laboratory where they can experiment with new technologies that, in the future, can be transferred to electric series models.
Nissan also has a good experience in Formula E. This could represent an added value for McLaren although new electric motors will arrive from next year. Zak Brown , McLaren team principal, said:

THE NEW MONOPOSTO
