The auto market is experiencing a very difficult time. After all, the monthly registration numbers speak very clearly. As for the used car market, UNRAE has taken a new picture of the trend of the first 4 months of 2022 from which some very interesting data emerges.

According to what reported, the decline in property transfers of passenger cars & egrave; reached 10.2% (-9.9% in the first 3 months of 2022) equal to 1,525,952 units & agrave; compared to 1,700,197 in the same period of 2021. Net transfers and minivoltures fell by 11% by 9.3%.

DIESEL REMAINS THE FAVORITE ENGINE

Looking at the data from the point of view of engines, diesel models continue to be the most; demanded with a share of 49.1% even if down compared to 50.9% in the same period of 2021. Petrol cars followed with 40% and LPG cars with 4.4%. Fourth place for hybrids with 3.4%. Methane remained stable at 2.1%, while net transfers of BEV electric cars rose from 0.2% to 0.7% and Plug-ins rose to 0.4%.

The ratio of UNARE also highlights an increase in exchanges between private individuals , reaching 53.4% ​​of ownership changes. Those from operator to end customer drop to 41.9%. Car transfers from rental cars remained stable with an overall share of 0.7%. Those from Km0 which have a share of 4% are slightly down.


Another interesting fact is that which concerns age; of cars sold . In fact, almost 51% of the sales concern cars with more than 10 years of service (an increase compared to a year ago). The share of cars from 4 to 6 years is growing (12%), while & egrave; that from 6 to 10 years of age is stable at 15%. The share of the most cars decreased. recent, especially those from 1 to 2 years (at 3.4%), for the reduction of Km0.


And looking at the data at the level of the regions, Lombardy, Lazio and Campania represent a total of 35% of all changes in ownership; in these first 4 months of 2022. All regions are decreasing with the exception of Trentino Alto Adige which, thanks to the transfers of used cars from operators, has registered a growth of 3%.
