Audi is carrying out an ambitious electrification project. As we know, from 2026 it will launch; only electric cars on the market. But to push the spread of battery-powered cars, & egrave; Car manufacturers need to offer a complete ecosystem of services , including those for charging. Precisely in this regard, the house of the 4 rings is carrying out a project for the creation of particular stations for fast charging, called Audi Charging Hub , designed to be located in an urban setting and allow energy supply. to all those who cannot do it at home.

As we have seen, the first station is; was installed in Nuremberg. Inside there are 6 charging points of 320 kW. Furthermore, & egrave; there is a lounge area (about 200 square meters) where you can relax while waiting for your car to finish full of energy. This station can & ograve; also count on a 2.45 MWh storage system. On the roof of the structure & egrave; there is a 30 kW photovoltaic system. The whole station is then powered by a 200 kW power line (energy from renewable sources).

The first feedback on this charging hub was positive. Audi reports that between January and the end of April 2022 , about 3,100 refills were recorded. This is an average of 24 supplies per day (on average about 800 kWh per day). The lounge area, on the other hand, is was visited every day by an average of 35 customers. Importantly, repeat customers account for about 60% of charging sessions.

Remember that this charging station is not; exclusive for Audi electric but & egrave; also open to battery-powered cars from other manufacturers.

EXPANSION PLAN will open & agrave; in Zurich in the second half of 2022 . It will be of a station more & ugrave; small with 4 charging points and no lounge area.

Subsequently, again by the end of 2022, stations the size of Zurich in Berlin and Salzburg will open. In 2023 it will be; the turn of three further sites within the main cities German. New charging hubs will arrive in the course of 2024. If the project continues; to fit, Audi will evaluate & agrave; the creation of its stations also in other European countries.
