Bethesda is postponing the sci-fi role-playing game Starfield and the open-world shooter Redfall to the first half of 2023. The company, which now belongs to Microsoft, announced this briefly and concisely on Twitter.< /p>

Originally both games should be released this year. As is so often the case, the cause of the postponement can be found in the fine-tuning that took longer than planned. At least they want to “make sure that you get the best possible gaming experience in your hands,” says the statement.

Bethesda wants to show the first gameplay of both titles soon. While no date has been announced for this, it's not a wild guess that it will be part of the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase will be held on June 12th. This is the event hosted by Microsoft's games division as part of Summer Game Fest 2022, which can be followed via live streaming.

Starfield is the first new Bethesda universe in 25 years of history by the studio known for The Elder Scrolls and Fallout series. The expectations for the upcoming action role-playing game, in which players with customizable characters explore the vastness of space, are correspondingly high.
