The Renault group through Mobilize, a proprietary brand of the French company that focuses on services inherent to mobility; sustainable , is working hard on a virtuous project and very important for the future of the Automotive market: the recycling of exhausted batteries of electric vehicles.

Through Mobilize, Renault has chosen to collaborate with Nidec ASI , a platform that operates in the sustainable development sector and, for over a year, meetings and works have been underway joined forces to develop a large project concerning the storage of energy stationary.

The idea is; that of recover batteries from cars and store them in renewable energy storage systems that are still operational, also called BESS , that is Battery Energy Storage System. Car batteries defined as flat are still very usable, this is because & eacute; at the end of their life cycle vehicle batteries still maintain 80% of their capacity and can provide enough energy to power other platforms.

Nidec ASI France has developed the BESS system software that allows all batteries to connect together and supply energy, while Nidec ASI Italy has worked on inverters to allow battery energy to flow to the grid or other platforms.

& ldquo; We are very satisfied with the results achieved with Mobilize, which have taken the knowledge of the challenges related to the recycling of car batteries to a new level, thanks to the development of algorithms and the union of best Italian and French technology. A project that demonstrates that giving a second life to car batteries is; possible, based on the recycling of key components such as vehicle batteries and on an increasing use of renewable energy, & rdquo; said Dominique Llonch, CEO of Nidec ASI and President of Nidec Industrial Solutions.
