SPACE ON BOARD: TRUNK AND COCKPIT

Dacia Duster & egrave; a particular C-segment SUV, because & eacute; costs less than competitors more & ugrave; small and still manages to come out as the winner for the space on board, with a very generous trunk. WHAT WE LIKE

Duster & egrave; a unique car and it is this is the reason for its success. We like the right quality/price/equipment ratio , because & eacute; the fittings are intelligent in terms of equipment and today it becomes even more; technology taking off some whim which we will talk about in the dedicated section.

We also like that it is one of the most 4X4 ; cheap, and therefore accessible to all. Four-wheel drive, when needed, should be seen as a necessity; and not a luxury. Although mainly sold in a front-wheel drive version, when purchased with 4-wheel drive it becomes a mountain goat, at ease with earth, snow, mud … and even some rocks, try it to believe it.

The LPG version then simplifies your life in planning the refueling: the new oversized tank & egrave; from 62 gross liters which, due to regulations, become 50 liters effective to be used and to be added to the 50 liters of the petrol one.

Dacia knows her stuff and she knows the customer, and this is; a notable advantage: the changes made in the passenger compartment are the right ones to respond to those who & egrave; fond of the brand and model. An example? The central armrest is now; adjustable, more robust and reaches maturity. Small detail? Not if we consider that the car is lived every day.

WHAT WE DON'T LIKE

Difficult to find something really negative to say about Duster, Dacia has done everything to make it balanced. To want to make her fleas, for & ograve; a quality must be reported; mediocre camcorders. They only serve to lower the “ advertising '' price, but they are too unrealistic for a car in 2022 and in Italy.

HOW DOES IT GO AND WHICH ENGINE TO CHOOSE

No news significant for the chassis: if in the past we had worked with reinforcements, which later proved effective on and off the road, this restyling evidently reached its maximum on this platform. We find the roll in the more curves; narrow, important when compared to the novelties; of the C segment that are guided more & ugrave; similar to the hatchback/sedan from which they are derived.

Precisely due to the evolution of the market, even at prices that are much higher if you look at the new one, the gap in terms of driving dynamics begins to become marked. It must be said that it is only noticeable by forcing the Duster at high speeds; in a stretch full of medium and fast curves: here the steering remains read, in the center you can perceive the empty area and its lightness makes you nervous, especially with the 150 HP engine that allows you to access unprecedented accelerations and powers on this model, resulting in perhaps excessive.

Dacia Duster 4×4 exists only with the dCi 115 CV , forced choice if you want all-wheel drive on a car that still has angles of attack and exit able to face much more; than what the average customer could imagine.

The other more version luxurious, the only one that makes you exceed 20,000 in addition to 4WD, & egrave; the one with a well-known engine from Renault. Duster 2022 may & ograve; in fact show off the petrol (it is a 4-cylinder) 1.3 TCe 150 HP with EDC gearbox.

The automatic transmission & egrave; comfortable for relaxed driving, in traffic & egrave; a godsend but such an engine has, perhaps, little sense on a car of this type that is not egrave; dynamically supported by a chassis that is fun to drive and still drives like the SUVs of yesteryear.

In short, the 100 HP Turbo LPG or the 90 HP petrol are fine which save a lot on the price list. Stay the option of diesel with the thanks of the great travelers who live far from the cities adverse to diesel fuel.


Taking advantage of the LPG turbo engine with the 6-speed manual gearbox, a transmission where the lever does not have clutches from MX-5 but & egrave; easy and does not stick, you get access to an all-round car.
