Continental presented SportContact 7 , a new high performance tire designed for sports cars. It will be already available from autumn in 42 different versions with sizes ranging from 19 to 23 inches. A tire developed not only for sports cars but also for supercars. Sizes are available for models such as the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio, Ford Focus III RS, Mini Cooper S Clubman, Porsche 4 S GT, AMG sports cars and McLaren brand cars.

During straight driving, the footprint ends in the area of maximum water expulsion, thus developing; maximum grip in the wet when braking and accelerating. On dry asphalt, when cornering, the footprint moves to the outer shoulder which, thanks to innovative locking elements that allow limited movements of the tread, effectively transmits forces for exceptionally stable handling.
Speaking of the BlackChili compound, the company & agrave; makes it known that & egrave; has been optimized for the tread design. It perfectly matches the very rigid and low profile structure of the tire and not only provides excellent driving characteristics, but also ensures a significant increase in mileage.
Compared to the previous generation, Continental's internal tests have shown that the mileage is; increased by 17% and track performance improved by 10%. In addition, braking distances in the wet are reduced by 8% and by 6% in the dry. This test refers, Continental points out, to a tire of size 245/30 R 20. Since conventional sports tires react differently to different vehicle characteristics, the specifications of the SportContact 7 are adapted to each vehicle class .
