New Skoda Fabia (2022) is preparing for its debut with the fourth generation after a journey in stages: in May we discovered its characteristics, in July we saw it in a static version and, with a trip at the end of August complicated by the bureaucracies of these crazy times, we finally drove it to Poland.

With the task of renewal without relying on the hybrid , Fabia plays a card that & egrave; was highly appreciated by customers and allowed the brand to grow in terms of quality & agrave; perceived in the preferences of the public. Stay on petrol, & egrave; true: it will not be the more & ugrave; exciting in terms of performance, but manages to offer an interesting quality/price/equipment ratio, especially because does not miss anything in terms of technology and active safety (ADAS).

INTERIOR: TRUNK AND COCKPIT among the most popular cars; cunning and practical that you can have in terms of livability; daily interior . Fabia does not deny the famous motto & quot; Simply Clever & quot; and also improves in design. The dashboard & egrave; now less sober , embellished with fabric finishes and a colored profile that gives a good alternation of colors and materials.

It is a pity that there is no effort to render more; soft interior door trims. These are completely dominated by rigid plastics: good assembly but the door panel is; aesthetically more & ugrave; similar to the old course of the brand than to the new one, also made up of more solutions; prized as seen on Octavia.

In short, we note that Fabia had to make some compromises. ROAD TEST

Ambition costs 17.600 & euro; and has a good standard equipment : lane keeping and automatic emergency braking, cruise control (not adaptive), climate control, rear parking sensors, smartphone support, the 8 '' Bolero and 2 USB C. At launch, the Comfort Ambition & egrave; included and brings USB C to 4, electric windows to 4, adds rear air vents, Skoda Connect, front armrest and anti-freeze washer nozzles.

Who is evaluating it as the only family car , and given the generous trunk and habitability; could do it, it should focus on the turbo petrol (TSI EVO).
