Moto G60s: Motorola is swapping 5G for 120 Hz and 128 GB of storage

Below the Moto G100, which costs 500 euros (RRP), Motorola is now positioning the Moto G60s for 270 euros. That in turn is 40 euros more than Motorola calls for the Moto G50. For the surcharge, buyers get a larger display with 120 Hz, twice as much memory and an ultra-wide-angle camera. 5G is missing this time.

In the new Moto G60s, the screen measures 6.8 inches instead of 6.5 inches (G50) with a resolution of 1,080 × 2,460 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The IPS panel comes in 20.5: 9 format and takes 88 percent of the front of the smartphone. Motorola accommodates the 16-megapixel front camera in a central punch-hole notch. The Moto G60s itself has dimensions of 169.6 × 75.9 × 9.6 mm (H × W × D), weighs 212 g and is made entirely of plastic. A certification according to IP52 should protect against splash water, but no longer.

128 GB expandable memory

The smartphone also sets itself apart from the Moto G50 via the processor, which comes from MediaTek instead of Qualcomm. Instead of the Snapdragon 480, the Helio G95 is used. In terms of performance, the SoCs, each with 2 + 6 CPU cores (A76 + A55) and Mali-G76 MC4 or Adreno 619, should also be similar in the GPU. However, the integrated modem of the Snapdragon 480 also supports 5G, but that of the Helio G95 with a maximum of LTE does not. Both smartphones offer 4 GB of RAM, but the Moto G60s has double the amount of storage with 128 GB (expandable).

The rear camera of the Moto G60s is also more extensive which, in addition to wide-angle, macro and depth sensor, also offers a lens for ultra-wide-angle photos. The main camera also provides a higher resolution with 64 to 48 megapixels. A higher resolution is also supported in video mode with up to 4K.
