Like every year, Apple is expected to hold another event in September, with the main announcement being the iPhone 13 series. In the latest issue of his Power On newsletter, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman summarizes Apple's number of new products. He is unable to provide many new details, so it is more of a summary of what is coming.

‘September event with iPhone 13 and Apple Watch’

< p>The September event, like every year, is all about the iPhone and the Apple Watch. The iPhone 13 line consists of four models in the same sizes as the iPhone 12. The main improvements are in the screen and the camera, according to Gurman. He thereby repeats the portrait videos in the iPhone 13 Pro and two other innovations, which were already announced last week.

The screen gets an update with a smaller notch and support for ProMotion, which means that the refresh rate is higher and scrolling and animations are smoother. Despite the fact that the iPhone will not receive a huge upgrade, Apple has opted for the iPhone 13 name, according to Gurman. The smaller notch and the second year for 5G would be reason enough for Apple to choose the iPhone 13.

Apple also has several products planned in terms of wearables. The Apple Watch Series 7 gets a small redesign, with the screen being flatter and getting new technology. Fitness+ also gets a few new features, namely Time to Run and Audio Meditations. You can then run and meditate under the guidance of famous people, just like in the current Time to Walk function.

The AirPods are getting their biggest redesign in years. The standard model is more like the AirPods Pro, with a more in-ear-like design and shorter sticks. However, it is still unclear whether the rubber earplugs are necessary and whether these are really in-ear AirPods. Also read our previous overview of AirPods 3 rumours.

The new iPad mini 6 is a completely new model with a new design and better specs. It's the biggest update to the iPad mini ever, says Gurman. The new iPad mini will probably look very similar to the iPad Air 2020, so without a home button and with clean edges and a Touch ID sensor in the power button. There will also be a newer iPad 2021, with a better chip. However, it is unclear when Apple will announce these iPads.

‘Fall ends with new MacBooks with M1X’

Fall ends for Apple with the new MacBook Pro models with M1X chip. The new 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro with Apple Silicon should go on sale as soon as the current 16-inch MacBook Pro celebrates its second birthday, according to Gurman. That model appeared in mid-November 2019. Apple will probably hold a separate event for this, just like a year ago for the Apple Silicon event in November.

It is not entirely clear from Mark Gurman's story. how many events will actually come. Apple could split the announcements into two events: September with iPhone, Apple Watch, AirPods and iPads and November with new MacBooks. Another option is for Apple to give the iPads a separate event in October, as has been done in the past. Also read our roundup of Apple products for 2021 for a bigger overview of what's to come.
