AOC serves the very wide but narrow 32: 9 format with two new monitors for gamers. Both have a curved VA panel. The AG493UCX2 delivers 5,120 × 1,440 pixels at 165 Hz, the AG493QCX lights up 3,840 × 1,080 at 144 Hz.
AOC had just presented five models from the Agon G3 series, but is devoting its own press release to the “super-broad” newbies. Not many words should be lost about the AG493UCX2 at this point, because the monitor was unveiled in China two weeks ago. It is now clear that it will also appear in Germany from September 2021 for 1,189 euros (RRP). Essentially, it is a revised version of the AG493UCX, which now delivers 165 Hz instead of 120 Hz.
The AG493QCX is visually identical to its sister model, but with 3,840 × 1,080 it has significantly fewer pixels on the screen. The resolution corresponds to two Full HD displays standing next to each other, which is why AOC speaks of Dual Full HD (DFHD). The refresh rate is slightly lower at 144 Hz, and the response time is again identical at 4 ms (GtG) and 1 ms (MPRT). Instead of a DisplayPort 1.4, there are two DisplayPort 1.2 and two HDMI 2.0s. The USB-C connection of the UCX models has to be dispensed with, but three conventional USB-A ports are available.
The AOC Agon AG493QCX will also be available from September 2021 for 919 euros (RRP).
