A new check-in and boarding system created by Aeroporti di Roma (ADR) in collaboration with Sita is starting today in Fiumicino airport and in partnership with Delta Air Lines. This system, through biometric identification of the face , will allow & agrave; to make more easy, quick and safe transit at the airport.

The project, which is part of a pi & ugrave; a broad strategy of Aeroporti di Roma which focuses on digitization, safety, innovation and sustainability; environment, provides for the installation in some areas of the airport of some multimedia totems capable of detecting the biometric characteristics of the passengers' face to guarantee their identification by temporarily acquiring the information contained in the identification documents and on the boarding passes.

All data is associated with the face by means of special cameras, in full compliance with the privacy legislation as no photos are stored. The system temporarily detects only the biometric contours of the face.

At the moment, the service is; reserved only for passengers on Delta flights departing from Fiumicino airport to the United States. The same procedure is also operational in the opposite direction. Furthermore, from the beginning of August Delta will operate; also a new direct Rome-Boston connection. ADR, we remind you, & egrave; was among the first European airports to activate & quot; Covid Tested & quot; corridors with the United States.

This new system through biometric recognition simplifies all check-in procedures, reducing waiting times, and takes on greater value in this pandemic period as it is entirely touchless.
