OnePlus is expanding its family of mid-range smartphones with Android to include the OnePlus Nord CE 5G. CE stands for Core Edition, which is sorted between the regular Nord and the Nord N10 5G or should inherit the latter. The market launch in Germany is scheduled for June 21st at prices from 299 euros with 6 GB/128 GB.
The smartphone manufacturer is renewing the middle class below the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 8, which are offered with a total of five models. In the Nord family, on the other hand, three devices have been offered so far, the fourth smartphone in the group is today the OnePlus Nord CE 5G, which will inherit the OnePlus Nord CE 5G on June 21 for the same RRP as at the market launch of the OnePlus Nord N10 5G, although not yet known is whether OnePlus will take the older model out of its range.
Screen changes to AMOLED panel
On the one hand, OnePlus is upping the ante with the display, which now also uses an AMOLED panel in this price range, which works at 90 Hz as before. With 6.43 inches for the new model, all Nord smartphones are on a comparable level. The Snapdragon 750G is also new as a somewhat more powerful processor. Its performance cores are now based on the newer Cortex-A77 and clock a little higher. And for the GPU, the regular version of the Adreno 619 is now used instead of a slimmed-down version. The SoC comes with an integrated Snapdragon X52 modem, so that 5G is on board again. The new cellular standard is only missing from the manufacturer's current smartphones in the Nord N100. All models of the top smartphones from OnePlus are equipped with it.
Base model with 128 GB for 299 euros
The company also offers more memory configurations to choose from, although the microSD slot has been omitted. The basic model with 6 GB/128 GB costs 299 euros, for 329 euros there is 8 GB of RAM and for 399 euros there are 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage available. From June 21, OnePlus will only offer the basic model online in its own shop, the other versions also on Amazon, DeinHandy and Sparhandy.

The thinnest smartphone since the OnePlus 6T is the new device, says the manufacturer and specifies 7.9 mm for the height. At 170 g, it is also the lightest smartphone among the Nord models. OnePlus has nevertheless found space for a 3.5 mm jack next to the USB Type-C socket. The case is available in “Charcoal Ink” (all variants), “Blue Void” (both more expensive versions) and “Silver Ray” (only 256 GB), whereby the blue is matt and is intended to reduce fingerprints.
< p class = "p text-width">The back is again adorned with a triple camera with lenses for wide-angle, ultra-wide-angle and monochromatic recordings, as they are already known from the Nord N10 5G. As before, the resolution is 64, 8 and 2 megapixels. The main camera's capabilities include night mode and video recordings in up to 4K30 with electronic image stabilization – the OIS remains exclusive to the Nord.
Larger Battery charges with Warp Charge 30T
Everyday life should bring the smartphone a slightly larger battery with 4,500 mAh. This can be charged with a slightly optimized Warp Charge 30T, so that 70 percent should be reached again within half an hour, as with the smaller battery of the Nord N10 5G.
This is rounded off Complete package with OxygenOS 11 based on Android 11.
