MINI has an ambitious electrification plan. We already know that the brand will become only electric from 2030. The automaker already has; anticipated some details of its future and, in particular, provided some information on the first battery-powered models that will arrive in the coming years. Apparently, it looks like there will be; also an electric MINI Convertible whose debut is; expected in 2025.

MINI CONVERTIBLE ELECTRIC
The choice of MINI to continue offering a Cabrio model no longer surprises; from time to time given the success in terms of sales it has had in recent years. In Germany alone, for example, nearly one in five customers chose to buy this car in 2020. A vehicle that is also very popular in America and the UK. MINI, therefore, intends to continue to offer the Cabrio in the future even if it will be; also offered in an electric-only version. There will, however, also be a new endothermic variant, but as we all know it will be; the latest as the brand aims for complete electrification.
The future electric MINI convertible should be built from a modified version of the UKL platform of the BMW Group. Unfortunately, at the moment there are no details regarding the possible powertrain that will be able to; find a place inside this new model. As regards the medium-term electrification plans of the brand, we already know; which in 2022 will debut the electric John Cooper Works inspired by the Pacesetter, an extreme version of the electric MINI designed to become the Safety Car for the Formula E championship. Furthermore, MINI has also confirmed that the next generation of the Countryman will be & agrave; also available in a 100% electric variant in 2023.
The Countryman will be & agrave; built in Leipzig starting in 2023 and will most likely share; the platform with the new BMW X1 and BMW iX1 models. Finally, it should be remembered that by 2027 MINI expects fully electric vehicles to account for more than 50% of its sales.
