Business All-in-One PC: HP is upgrading the EliteOne 800 to Rocket Lake

The HP EliteOne 800 G8 is the successor to the all-in-one PC HP EliteOne 800 G6 designed for professional use in the office -Inch touch display. Intel CPUs from the Rocket Lake family, either Core i5 or Core i7, have recently been installed in the display housing.

HP primarily connects the new edition with the change in the technical basis. While the predecessor EliteOne 800 G6 in the form of the Core i5-10500 and the Core i7-10700 relied on Intel processors of the Comet Lake generation, the new EliteOne 800 models are divided into the size class 24 and 27 inches with modern CPUs from the Rocket family Lake.

In the announcement, HP generally names the 11th generation of the core processors, which Intel runs under the code name Rocket Lake-S (report). The manufacturer does not yet reveal specific CPU models, but it can be assumed that the affordable entry-level model of the all-in-one PCs has a Core i5, while the more expensive top model still has the Core i7 with an identical TDP of 65 watts . As before, the equipment package of the PC systems also includes 16 GB of working memory in all model variants in the Premium series, which is built into two SO-DIMM slots and a 512 GB NVMe SSD. A second M.2 slot for drives with a maximum length of 80 mm (M.2 2280) is still free ex works.

Selectable with 24 and 27 inch touch display

The components sit behind a 24 or 27 inch diagonal IPS screen, which can display a resolution of 1,920 × 1,080 pixels. The image signals come from the Xe-GPU integrated in the processor. The display enables commands to be entered via a touch-sensitive surface.

The all-in-one PC series can connect to the Internet or network via a wired RJ45 socket at gigabit speed or alternatively via a WLAN module from Intel that supports the Wi-Fi 6 radio standard (WLAN 802.11ax ) controlled. An HDMI 2.0a output and a DisplayPort are available for external displays. External peripherals can be connected to seven USB ports, most of which are accessible from the rear, but also as Type A and Type C ports with transmission speeds of up to 10 Gbit/s and a charging function on the side.

A retractable 5 MP webcam, a combined jack for headphones and microphone and a speaker system das in collaboration with audio specialist Bang & amp; Olufsen, belong to the equipment list of the EliteOne-800-G8 line.

Available from May in the HP store

According to HP, the new generation of all-in-one PCs, together with a new mini PC and a classic desktop in the EliteOne 800 family, will go on sale in selected markets in May – not just for business customers. The manufacturer has not yet made public prices for the four expected model variants of the all-in-one PC, all of which are supplied with Windows 10 preinstalled in the Pro version.

The predecessor EliteOne 800 G6 in 24 inches currently costs at least 1,928 euros in the manufacturer's shop. With a faster Core i7 instead of the Core i5, the price rises to 2,102 euros. The larger 27-inch model, on the other hand, is hardly more expensive, with the Core i5 the lower end starts at 1,990 euros, while the better-equipped 27-inch model costs 2,164 euros.
