Media. SVT's “Aktuellt” is rejected by the Review Board after misleading about the cost of the EU's controversial corona fund. The correction three days later was also incorrect, according to the Review Board.

The deleted feature in Aktuellt from 10 December was about the EU reaching an agreement on the Union's long-term budget and a recovery fund, the so-called corona support.
One host incorrectly stated that it was about SEK 18,000 million.
SVT has admitted that the sum was incorrect and stated that the correct figure was SEK 18,000 billion and that it included both the long-term budget and the recovery fund.
The Review Board notes that SVT's correction three days later stated that the EU's long-term budget comprises SEK 18,000 billion. However, according to the committee, the correction was not complete, as it gave the impression that it only covered the EU's long-term budget and not the recovery fund. The element therefore contravenes the requirement of objectivity, states the Review Board.
