Earlier this spring, rumored Jon Prosser announced that Apple was working on multiple colors for the new iMac. As you may know, this rumor turned out to be true: the iMac 2021 will come in no less than seven different colors. The same source of Prosser is now back and says Apple will also release the MacBooks in multiple colors.

However, Prosser's source is a lot more cryptic than before this time. He only shares an image that shows the models of the turn of the century: the colored iMac G3 and iBooks for ordinary consumers and the more powerful models in black, for example, for the pros. The source thus suggests that Apple will now also apply this strategy again. The source recently saw a prototype of a blue MacBook, which he says looks very nice. The current MacBook Air is only available in silver, space gray and gold.

There are actually no other details. This may be a new MacBook Air with an Apple Silicon chip. The MacBook Air is the model that is mainly aimed at the ordinary consumer, while the MacBook Pro models are for the professionals. If Apple is indeed going to release a MacBook in multiple colors, the MacBook Air is a logical choice. It is still unclear when this model will appear and what kind of chip it will contain. It may be an M2 chip or an M1X chip, a faster version of the current M1.

Earlier Bloomberg claimed that Apple is working on a new high-end MacBook Air 2021 with MagSafe. This model is expected to be released in the second half of this year at the earliest, but may not hit the shelves until next year. This is probably the same new model, but it has not yet been confirmed.
