To match the new Fritz! Repeater 6000 with Wi-Fi 6, AVM has now also presented a new Fritz! Box for DSL with Wi-Fi 6, the Fritz! Box 7590 AX. As the name suggests, it is the direct successor to the Fritz! Box 7590, but relies on the new generation Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) for WLAN.
The new WLAN standard Wi-Fi 6 is not only intended to improve the range and transmission speed of the radio signal of the Fritz! Box 7590 AX, but also allows the simultaneous connection of more WLAN end devices than before. In the Fritz! Box 7590 AX, a total of eight antennas (4 × 4) are used for this, with theoretically up to 2,400 Mbit/s over 5 GHz and up to 1,200 Mbit/s over 2.4 GHz. The new model also supports the mesh WLAN standard from AVM and thus forms a common wireless network with the other mesh-capable products from AVM.
Apart from the WLAN a well-known 7590
Apart from the new WLAN radio standard, the Fritz! Box 7590 AX offers the same performance features as the Fritz! Box 7590 (test). In addition to ADSL2 +, the new model with VDSL2 with 35b supervectoring also supports Internet connections with up to 300 Mbit/s. The DECT base station known from the Fritz! Box 7590 for up to six cordless telephones and connections for existing landline telephones have also been implemented again in the successor.

AVM Fritz! Box 7590 AX No 2.5 gigabit LAN for the router
With the LAN connections directly on the Fritz! Box 7590 AX, four gigabit LANs remain Ports. Unlike the Fritz! Repeater 6000, which also supports 2.5 Gigabit LAN, the Fritz! Box still uses the old network speed. In addition to the four LAN connections, another gigabit WAN port is installed. Printer or storage media can be connected to the Fritz! Box via two USB 3.0 ports.
