The Kölnerc/o pop (Cologne on Pop) the Festival is from 16. up to 20. August in the 14. Round – and with great success. Cologne is five days long, quasi-capital of the pop culture, and because you want to be more than just a regular music event, to play not only in Clubs, but brings the music to the people. So the music is there in the most unusual places, in fashion boutiques as well as on Parking decks, in the Zoo or on a ship – everything is already.

With the years, the c/o pop has established itself as a “truffle pig festival”: With its good nose, the organizers have discovered many unknown musicians, the Festival became the springboard for your career. Jan Delay, for example, or Arcade. Also, AnnenMayKantereit, or moderate your career on c/o pop stages occurred at the very beginning. Today, you are in the scene all over Germany.

Stars and newcomers, the mix of s

Moderate no Unknown are in the c/o pop

“We look forward to have you again this year – especially because moderate your second-to-last concert will be playing our kick-off in the dancing fountains,” says Norbert Oberhaus, organizer and co-founder of the c/o pop. After that, the band members want to make a break and on solo paths.

The concept of the c/o Pop maker is the audience: many of the local Cologne-based Bands and musicians from Germany are represented. This is intentional; after all, we want to strengthen the local scene. On the other hand, artists from all over the world for its international Flair. In 2017, Radical Face from the U.S., for example, on the stage, whose Song “Welcome Home” almost everyone knows at the latest since the “I am Nikon”advertising campaign. The c/o pop class of 2017 has some musical Surprises in store, promises to the house of lords. “This year, we were able to get even more German Newcomer Bands and international Acts than ever before.”

Battle of the raspy voices – Faber and Fil Bo Riva

Among the a lot of promise count talents, the 24-year-old Julian Pollina alias Faber, the travels for a while through the German media. In the case of smaller TV appearances in the Kabararettsendung “Puffpaffs Happy Hour” or in the case of the cult show “Inas Nacht” enthusiasts, the shaggy-haired Swiss audience and presenters, cheeky texts in high German. His music is a wild mixture of Folk, Chanson, Indie, Polka and Balkan music is played, however, hardly on the Radio. Whether this will change after his performance at the c/o pop?

Fil, Bo, Riva grew up in Italy and lived for many years in Dublin for the past five years, Berlin is his adopted home

The native Italian Fil Bo Riva is similar to the Swiss musician with his brown Curls, only visually. Vocally you think when you first Listen to it but rather to the lead singer of the Cologne rock band AnnenMayKantereit, and asks: “Since when is singing Henning May in English?” What have the voices of the three artists have in common: the distinctive, concise Grater. This, you suspect, much like Henning May, in the case of such “young boys” not, as the upper house.

Artists from all over the world

Tash Sultana (22) mastered ten instruments, all of which you as a self-taught learned

The Festival stretches its tentacles beyond the borders of Europe – and not only in the United States. This time, Noga brings to the Erez gloomy and at the same time danceable electro-pop from Israel. A Must is the Loop-artist, Tash Sultana. Australia’s latest music export to avid with their living room recording of “Jungle” is already in the network. “They represented a kind of Pop from the countries where you would least expect it”, the house of lords. And it is precisely this unexpected music accents the mystery of the c/o pop.
