The third highest mountain in Switzerland, the virgin, is adorned with unusual art project: wood sculptures stand at the highest point on 4158 meters in the sky.

The six sculptures are intended to remind to the responsible use of the world heritage site. The Region Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch is recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage site.

Experienced mountain guides had to upgrade with the approximately ten-kilogram sculptures in the backpack. The sculptures will be relocated to six weeks in the World Nature Forum, a meeting centre and a starting point for travelers in the Region.

“We want to draw attention to the global significance of the world heritage sites and the people remind you of what a treasure we have with these facilities,” said the artist Dominic Müller.
