Facebook has its Messenger for Windows Phone released. Microsoft said a few weeks ago that the application was coming. Chatting via Facebook is also embedded into Windows Phone.

The built-in chat feature through Facebook works in Windows Phone via the Messages app, but does not support group conversations, and would, moreover, according to persistent rumors disappear from Windows Phone 8.1, the upcoming update for the platform; Microsoft could be the integration replaced by a supplied Facebook app.

Messenger is the first app from Facebook itself for Windows Phone; the social network previously released an app for Windows 8.1, but Microsoft is the publisher of the Facebook app for Windows Phone. The Messenger app adapts more to the interface of Windows Phone than the Facebook app from Microsoft. So the live tile and the icon is not blue, but is carried out in the accent color chosen by the user.

The app works in contrast to the Android and iOS versions with ‘chat heads’, the feature in which the app active chats in the foreground displays a photo of the contact with whom you are chatting. However, there are stickers in the app. Push notifications can work on the lockscreen, with toast notifications and the live tile.
