Ontwikkelstudio Slightly Mad Studios has announced that racing game Project Cars will be released for SteamOS and the next-gen consoles. That means that except for the pc, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, the SteamBox on a version of Project Cars can count.
The ontwikkelstudio see the move to the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One as a logical, because the additional graphical and technical capabilities that the platforms offer to connect with the wants of Slightly Mad Studios with Project Cars a new standard to convert in virtual racing. Or that also means that the game is no longer available for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 is not clear. The platforms are not mentioned, but the studio lists a Wii U version. A lot of Wii U games sitting technically on the level of the PS3 and the Xbox 360, so it seems plausible that the game to those platforms transferred will be.
According to the studio, SteamOS some unique opportunities which the version of Project Cars on that platform will have some unique components in the area of multiplayer and social features. What that could have been made Slightly Mad Studios, however, is not known. Slightly Mad Studios used Steam to periodically new developers builds to share with the community of Project Cars.
