Canonical will be in Ubuntu 13.10 Firefox as the default browser included. This keeps Chromium, the opensourceversie of Googles Chrome browser, again an optional installate, although it remains the browser a chance to Firefox to be replaced in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS.

Within the development community of Ubuntu going on for a long time the discussion of, or Firefox or Chromium the default browser in the Linux distribution. Up to now Firefox always preferred, but at the last Ubuntu Developer Summit,, held in may, sounded the call to Chromium is the default browser. According to many Chromium-trailers, the browser is now better than Mozilla’s Firefox.

Meanwhile on the Ubuntu Developer mailing list announced that in Ubuntu 13.10, in October, that must come true, and restart Firefox the default browser. Chromium is therefore an optional installation and will once again be found in the Ubuntu Software Center.

The choice of Chromium, not as the default browser in Ubuntu 13.10, among other things, have to do with an irregular update process. Also would the builds of Chromium for Ubuntu is insufficient to be updated. Nevertheless, give the developers that Chromium has a good chance to end up in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, the default browser if these problems have been fixed.
